About  Daniel  Wickwire

Daniel Wickwire was born California in 1951 and grew up in the city of Bakersfield graduating from High School in 1969.    He became a believer in Christ when he was 11 years old and was baptized  when he was 21.

He served for 3 years in the US Army between 1970-1973.  While in the Army he was trained as a Medic, Paratrooper, and a Green Beret and served a tour of duty as a Combat Medic in Vietnam.

He studied at Bakersfield College for 2 years and graduated with an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts in 1974.

He studied Bible at Multnomah School of the Bible for 3 years and graduated with a Bachelors in Theology and a minor in Greek in 1977.

He studied Bible at Columbia Graduated School of Bible and Missions in Columbia South Carolina for 2 years and graduated with a Masters Degree in Bible in 1983. 

He studied Linguistics for 4 years at the University of Washington at Seattle, University of Texas at Arlington, the University of Oklahoma at Norman and finished a Masters Degree in Linguistics at Pacific Western University in California in 1987.

He did 1 year of doctoral studies in Islamics at Ankara University as a special guest student in the Department of Islamic Theology between 1995-1996.   Dan has given seminars comparing and contrasting Islam with Christianity around the world. 

Daniel is married to Devri and is the father of 3 sons: Derek Yekta (84), Andrew Nadir (86) and Peter Can (89).  They served as church planting missionaries in Ankara, Turkey for 28 years from 1985 > 2013 and since 2013 they have been serving with Frontier Alliance International in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.   FAImisison.org
